As per a recent news update, it has been revealed that Honda has unveiled its first electric bike, the E-VO. The bike has been manufactured and created in alliance with its local partner Guangzhou, and the bike has been branded under Wuyang Honda. This would be Honda’s first electric bike manufactured in collaboration with its Chinese partner Wuyang. The bike would be available in 4.1 kWh and 6.2 kWh variants.
The 4.1 KWH battery pack would help the bike reach a claimed range of 120Km with a kerb weight of 143 Kg. EV’s are a about adding convenience to mobility, hence Honda has equipped the vehicle with new technology that allows it to be charged via Home charger in 2 hours 30 minutes or a traditional car charger in 1 hour. The larger triple- battery configuration also gets a 6.2 KWH and higher range of 170KM. The second model would weigh around 156 Kg and can also be charged via home charger in 2 hours 30 minutes or a car charger in 1 hour 30 minutes. Both the battery packs in the bike would be able to produce a peak power of 15.3 KW.
New Features
The new E VO has been equipped with a slew of new features, the bike gets three riding modes( ECO/Normal/Soft), 7 inch TFT dash with a secondary TFT of the same size that communicates navigation, Music, Tire pressure and battery SIC information among others. The variant with a shorter range gets a front dash cam whereas the larger battery model adds a rear dash cam to the package as well. The Bike Would be available in two colors, Black and White.
The Bike has been priced at CNY 30,000 approx. Rs 3.56 lakh for the 4.1 KWH battery variant and around Rs 4.39 lakh approx. conversion from CNY 37,000 for the 6.2 KWH variant. These bikes have been specially crafted for the Chinese market with their regional partner Wuyang and its unlikely that Honda launches E-Vo in India.
