Mahindra & Mahindra issued a recall for 1.10 lakh units of its XUV700 and XUV400 following the possibility of a wire cut due to friction in the wiring loom of the engine. The Indian carmaker said that deficiency in the already sold cars will be corrected free of cost.
According to the company’s statement, it has affected 108,306 units of the XUV700 manufactured between June 8, 2021, and June 28, 2023, and 3,560 units of the XUV400 EV manufactured between February 16, 2023, and June 5, 2023.
Mahindra will inspect some of the defects found in the brake potentiometer meter in these vehicles and rectify the defect. The owners of both these models will be contacted by the company.
XUV700 Engine
The XUV700 petrol variant comes with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo engine, which generates power of 200 bhp and peak torque of 380 Nm. Whereas, the diesel variant comes with a 2.2-liter, 4-cylinder mHawk turbo engine, which generates 155 bhp power and 360 Nm torque (in the entry-level variant).
In top variants, the engine generates a power of 185 bhp and a torque of 420 Nm (MT) / 450 (AT). Both engines are available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes.
XUV400 range
Mahindra sells XUV400 in two trims EC and EL. The battery capacity of the EC is 34.5 kWh. The company claims its range is 375 km. while the EL has a battery capacity of 39.4 kWh and it has been claimed that the driving range is 456 km. Is. The EC comes with two charger options 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW while the EL trim, on the other hand, comes with only a 7.2 kW charger.
