New Delhi: The central government has given the green light for the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) to proceed with the Rs 26,281 crore contract with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), paving the way for the company to introduce 4G services in India. TCS would install the 4G lines and care for the network for nine years, the Economic Times reported.

Soon, TCS would receive purchase orders from BSNL worth Rs 10,000 crore. By doing this, the government-owned telco will try to roll out its 4G services by December 2022 or January 2023.

Tejas Network, a division of Tata Sons, will produce the tools on-site for BSNL. TCS stated in October that it would provide the essential equipment within a year of receiving the order. After receiving the order, the radio equipment would be delivered within 24 months.
