He faced several failures in life, but ultimately, his hard work and resilience paid off, leading his business to reach turnovers in the crores. Amit conducted many experiments to run his business and admitted that he always learned something new through these trials. Amit Soni runs a bakery brand called RD’Z 1983, where he creates cookies using millets such as bajra, ragi, and jowar. He sells his products in both retail and online markets, supplying over 100 hotels. His annual turnover is Rs 1.50 crore.

He started his career with a job in a bakery after earning his MBA in 2009. Amit served the bakery as factory manager. The factory had an old operational approach to which the bakery owner wanted to change. The owner had asked Amit to help him in overhaul by visiting big brands like Britannia, Parle-G and Unibic cookies. He learned the process and management by visiting these big establishments.

Amit named his bakery after his parents and their wedding year. In RD’Z 1983, ‘R’ stands for his father’s name, Ramesh, ‘D’ stands for his mother’s name, Durga, and 1983 is the year his parents got married. 

The young entrepreneur sells his products through online and retail markets. He also supplies it in over 100 hotels. Beside this, He exports the products to Bahrain and Dubai. 

Amit claimed that he does not mix any kind of preservatives in the products and uses only pure butter and high quality nuts and raisins in it. Amit said he conducted 96 trials of ingredients ratios to get the best to prepare for the cookies. 

Amit’s business has reached an annual turnover of Rs 1.5 crore. He is planning to set up another factory in jodhpur. He is anticipating that his business will reach a turnover of Rs 20 crore by 2027.
