Share Market Bounces Back: Sensex & Nifty End 5-Day Losing Streak — Here’s Why!

The Indian stock market began the week on a strong note. The Sensex and Nifty50 indices posted significant gains in early trade. The Sensex soared 462.45 points to 79,864.74, while the Nifty50 index rose to 24,251.10 levels.

The Indian share market benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty50, broke their 5-day losing streak on Monday, October 28, 2024. The BSE Sensex, a benchmark index of 30 prominent stocks, jumped 602.75 points to end the day at 80,005.04 points. The Nifty50 index on the NSE too ended Monday’s trading session on a high note, rising 158.35 points to 24,339.15 levels.

As of October 25, foreign investors have withdrawn a substantial Rs 88,818 crore from Indian equities this month, according to data available with NSDL.

The top gainers among the Sensex constituents on Monday were ICICI Bank, Adani Ports, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Sunpharma Hindustan Unilever etc. The notable losers included Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tech Mahindra and Bharti Airtel.

Tata Motors – Settle 1.66% up at Rs 878.70 per share.

Reliance Industries (RIL) – Settle 0.49% up at Rs 1,334.30 per share.

JSW Steel – Settle 2.68% up at Rs 968.45 per share.

HCL Technologies – Settle 1.34% up at Rs 1,875.95 per share.

Tech Mahindra – Settle 0.72% down at Rs 1,704 per share.

Adani Ports – Settle 2.80% up at Rs 1,353.20 per share.

ITC – Settle 0.41% up at Rs 484.10 per share.

HDFC Bank – Settle 0.48% down at Rs 1,734.30 per share.

On Monday, a significant 24 out of 30 Sensex constituents ended in the green, while 6 Sensex stocks closed in the red.
