Share Market Update: Sensex Slips 836 Points To Settle At 79,541, Nifty Ends At 24,200

Share Market Update: The Indian stock market benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, settled down in red on Thursday following Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 US Presidential election. Donald Trump is set to become the 47th President of the world’s largest economy, the United States. India’s sectoral indices had a bad day, with all of them settling in the red.

The Sensex tumbled 836.34 points to settle at 79,541.79 on Thursday. Nifty50 index also declined 284.70 points to settle at 24,199.35 points.

On the other hand, the US Federal Reserve is set to reveal its latest interest rate decision today, November 7, marking the conclusion of its two-day Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. Market expectations hint at a 25-basis-point rate cut.

Donald Trump secured a decisive victory in the 2024 US presidential election, securing 295 Electoral votes. His Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris, left behind with 226 votes. ICICI Bank – Settle 1.75% down at Rs 1,280 per share.

Tata Motors – Settle 2.36% down at Rs 819.80 per share.

TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) – Settle 0.26% up at Rs 4,149.40 per share.

Reliance Industries (RIL) – Settle 1.50% down at Rs 1,305.65 per share.

JSW Steel – Settle 1.99% down at Rs 988.75 per share.

HCL Technologies – Settle 0.43% down at Rs 1,831.05 per share.

Tech Mahindra – Settle 2.21% down at Rs 1,656 per share.

Adani Ports – Settle 1.28% down at Rs 1,352.60 per share.

ITC – Settle 0.69% down at Rs 4,78 per share.

HDFC Bank – Settle 0.46% down at Rs 1,746.15 per share.

On Thursday, 28 out of 30 Sensex constituents ended in the red, while only 2 Sensex stocks closed in the green.
