UPI Payments Unavailable On This Date: What You Need To Know And Do Today

If you use UPI, note that it won't work for HDFC Bank users on August 4, 2024, due to scheduled downtime. Online payments will be unavailable during a specified time.

UPI payments are rapidly growing in India. If you use UPI, be aware that it will not work on August 4, 2024. This affects only HDFC Bank users due to scheduled downtime. During this period, all online payments will be unavailable, but a specific time has been set for this.

The bank has issued a notification stating that system maintenance will occur from 12:00 AM to 03:00 AM. During this time, all online payments will be unavailable for a total of 180 minutes. This will affect all account holders, including those with savings and current accounts, who won’t be able to make transactions.

This maintenance will impact all apps used for UPI payments, such as the HDFC Mobile Banking App, GPay, WhatsApp Pay, Paytm, Shriram Finance, and Mobikwik. Essentially, the system will be completely down for these services. However, transactions made with POS devices will not be affected, so you can use them for payments.

You don’t need to take any action when UPI payments are down. HDFC Bank will automatically restore the service once maintenance is complete. Banks often perform maintenance to improve and fix network issues. While this may cause inconvenience when payments can’t be made, services will be easy to use again after restoration. Besides HDFC Bank, many other banks also conduct maintenance, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
