Chandigarh: While doing rescue to the people of his constituency amid flood, a venomous snake bit Punjab Health Minister Harjot Singh Bains on the intervening night of 15th August.

The Minister himself confirmed the news in a Twitter post.

“During the rescue operations, I was bitten by a venomous snake on the intervening night of 15th Aug, but that didn’t deter my determination to help my people,” said the Minister.

The Minister said that with God’s grace, the flood situation in the Anandpur Sahib constituency is better now.

Giving an update on his health condition he said that the effect of the venom is receding.
“With God’s grace and people’s love & blessings, I’m alright now. The effect of the venom is receding and my blood tests have come out normal as well…Rab Sabna te Meher rakhi,” said the minister.
