CBSE Opens Applications For National Teachers’ Awards 2025; Private School Educators Can Apply By July 6

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened applications for the National Teacher Award 2025, inviting self-nominations from teachers and principals of CBSE-affiliated private independent schools.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for this prestigious award, teachers must have served a minimum of 10 years of continuous service in schools affiliated with a recognized board of school education by March 31, 2025.

For principals, the requirement is to have served 10 years as a teacher and 5 years as a principal in CBSE-affiliated institutions by March 31, 2025.

Retirees who retire on or after March 31, 2025, can also apply.

Principals cannot apply as teachers, and applicants may apply for only one category.

How To Apply

All applications must be made online only through the CBSE website, cbseit.in/cbse/2025/tchawrd. The last date to apply will be July 6, 2025.

Applicants Must Upload

A statement of declaration to verify that the information you have uploaded is true and correct.
Recommendation letters and service certificates signed by the head of school.

Academic documents, or certificates, from Class 10 to post-graduate (scanned format).

Mark sheets from Board or school level exams.

All documents must be in PDF format, under 1MB in size, and lastly, authenticated by the head of school (for teachers) or by the head of school (for principals).

Selection Process

CBSE will evaluate applicants for merit based on service period, qualifications, age and performance in the examination. A merit list will be prepared, and the top 24 applicants will be selected.

In the event of a tie, other parameters may be applicable. Shortlisted applicants will be given two days to upload authenticated documents. Final selections will be made by the National Level Scrutiny Committee after an interaction round, which will shortlist six awardees.

Heads of institution are encouraged to bring this opportunity to the attention of the eligible staff members and to make sure that the application process is completed on time.
