New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has extended the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test -Post Graduate (NEET PG 2023) internship cut-off date to June 30, 2023. Earlier the cut-off date for NEET PG 2023 was March 31.

NEET PG 2023 Registration

The application process for NEET PG 2023 is underway and the last date to submit the application form is January 27. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their application currently being invited at natboard.edu.in or nbe.edu.in

After the previous announcement of MBBS internship cut-off dates, less than 50% of the interns were not eligible to appear for NEET PG 2023 exam. NEET PG 2023 exam will be conducted on March 5, 2023.

Official Notice

As per the official notification “Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt. Government of India vide its email dated 13.01.2023 has revised the cut-off date of completion of internship for the purpose of eligibility for NEET-PG 2023 to 30 June 2023”.

Most of the existing interns in the country are getting disqualified

FORDA, in a letter to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, said the “unfortunate decision” has disqualified most of the existing interns across the country, eliminating competition and leaving many others in a state of uncertainty. This is especially troublesome for interns in states like Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan.

Also for many others who have been completely disqualified under this new rule as at present most of the states have interns who will complete their work after the stipulated date. FORDA also stated that this decision and its implementation may lead to mental agony and unrest among students who are already frustrated by the delays and significant challenges affecting medical education in India.
