Jaipur: The police on Monday lathi-charged the students in the Rajasthan University in Jaipur who gathered for a rally without due permission ahead of the campus election.

The students belonged to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) who gathered in the premises to file nomination for the polls. The ABVP activists held am unauthorised rally in the varsity’s campus.

However, during the confrontation between the police and the students, both the parties suffered injuries.

The students’ union also blocked the JLN road following the lathi-charge by the police.
