The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) launched a new application portal for registration and filling up application forms online on Wednesday.
All applicants will have to fill up the application and upload their documents in the newly launched portal afresh using https://upsconline.nic.in, the UPSC statement said. The old One Time Registration (OTR) module will no longer be valid, it said.
The portal will assist aspirants to save time and avoid last minute rush in submission of applications for different examinations being conducted by the Commission , it added.
The home page and all profiles/modules have appropriate instructions to guide the candidates in filling the application form and uploading the documents.
“Applicants are strongly advised to use their Aadhaar Card as an ID document in the universal application for easy, effortless and seamless verification and authentication of ID and other details after which it serves as a permanent and common record for all examinations,” the statement said.
According to the UPSC notification, the new application portal will be effective from May 28, 2025, with the opportunity for candidates to submit their applications for CDS Exam-II, 2025 and NDA & NA-II, 2025, which will be advertised on 28.05.2025, via the new online application portal.
The online application portal has four parts, separated by card on the home page, three of which, account creation, universal registration, and common application form, contain elements which are shared for all examinations and can be completed at any time.
The fourth section areas examination includes examination notices, examination application, and application status.
Candidates will only be required to fill out examination specific information in this section during the relevant time frame outlined in the notice of an examination, the statement said.
“This arrangement will facilitate candidates to fill up the first three parts anytime and keep ready for applying to any UPSC examination whenever notified with updates as may be required, thereby saving time and avoiding last minute rush,” it added.
UPS, or the Indian Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), is an examination and selection body for the UPSC, which holds various examinations every year, including the most prestigious examination called the Civil Bodies examination to recruit officers in the personnel of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and in the Indian Police Service (IPS) in addition to various selection and recruitment tests and other interviews each year for recruitment to the Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts of the central government.
