Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are some of the most versatile actors in the Hindi cinema. They will reportedly reunite on the big screens after 17 years for a thriller film. According to Hindustan Times, both the actors will star together in a thriller movie and it will be directed by veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan.
A source closed to the development told Hindustan Times, “Akshay and Saif have always enjoyed working with each other and admired each other’s work. The moment they read the script, they knew they were on board.”
It’s a nail-biting and entertaining thriller film. Helmed by Priyadarshan, it will leave the audiences on the edge of their seats!,” the source added.
The movie will reportedly go on floors in August 2025 and will release in theatres next year.
For the unversed, Akshay and Saif first collaborated in 1994 for the hit film ‘Mai Khiladi Tu Anari’. They later worked in Yeh Dilagi, Tu Chor Main Sipahi and Keemat and were last seen together in the 2008 movie Tashan alongside Kareena Kapoor.

On the work front, Saif Ali Khan was recently seen in the Netflix film ‘Jewel Thief’ with Jaideep Ahlawat, Nikita Dutta and Kunal Kapoor. Akshay Kumar was recently seen in Kesari Chapter 2 along with Ananya Panday and R Madhavan. The movie is set against the backdrop of Jallianwala Bagh tragedy and Akshay played the role of C Sankaran Nair.
Akshay will next star in Housefull 5. The movie also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir.
Housefull 5 will release in theatres on June 6, 2025. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed Tarun Mansukhani. Its story and screenplay is done by Sajid Nadiadwala.
