Months after her separation from Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal made headlines, Verma opened up for the first time about her journey in an exclusive conversation with The Times of India about navigating public trolling, personal growth, and stepping into her acting debut.
Verma and Chahal, who got married in December 2020, parted ways earlier this year. The separation stirred widespread speculation on social media and Verma faced harsh trolling, including rumours of demanding alimony and being labelled a gold digger, Verma opted to remain silent.
In a candid chat with the Times of India, Verma was asked about the public scrutiny she has faced in the last couple of months, to which she responded fiercely that online criticism has never impacted her. She said her focus has always remained firmly on her work, and that continues to be her priority, TOI quoted Dhanashree, “It doesn’t bother me at all! I have surrounded myself with great inner strength, and I am so dedicated that my focus has always been on my work, as I have a lot of responsibilities. I have guarded myself and have built myself so strong that I just focus on my work, which will speak for everything. The negativity and public criticism have never really bothered me since day 1, and it will never bother me ever.”
She further added that she has learned to distinguish between constructive feedback and baseless commentary, “I prefer to ignore the noise that doesn’t contribute to my growth and focus on constructive feedback. I set goals for myself and stay committed to them till I achieve them.”

The biggest thing I have learnt is the importance of self-reliance and how my parents have raised a strong daughter. It has been a phase of growth and self-discovery, and I would like to continue with this as I am appreciative of how it has shaped me as a person.”
Meanwhile on the work front, Dhanashree Verma recently featured in the dance anthem ‘Ting Ling Sajna’ on Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s movie Bhool Chuk Maaf.
