Kunal Kamra Controversy: Online ticketing platform BookMyShow has reportedly taken down all content related to stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra. His name has also been removed from the list of artistes on the website, as per the reports of India Today.
Shiv Sena Leader Writes Complaint Letter
It is said that this action came after Yuva Shiv Sena general secretary Rahool N Kanal wrote a complaint letter to BookMyShow owners on Wednesday (2 April). He requested the platform to stop selling tickets for Kunal’s shows telling that his content may hurt the public’s sentiment.
Rahool Kanal described Kunal as someone with a ‘documented history of offensive behaviour’ in the letter. He further accused the comedian of running a campaign of ‘vilification’ against major public government figures, including the PM, CM, Deputy CM -and others.

Legal Trouble Mounts For Kunal
Kunal Kamra is also facing legal issues. On April 3, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police received a complaint from a Shiv Sena member which demands an investigation into Kunal’s financial dealings. The complaint alleged that he received funds from foreign countries through his videos.
Kunal Skips Police Summons Again
The controversy deepened after Kamra failed to appear before the Mumbai Police for questioning on April 5. This was the third time he ignored a police summons. He is being investigated for making defamatory remarks about Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde in one of his stand-up show named, Naya Bharat.
