Anurag Basu returned to his director’s chair with his new romantic drama ‘Metro In Dino’, which has been receiving a good response from the audience. The movie features an ensemble star cast as their stories take different routes. It stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher and Saswata Chatterjee in the lead roles. After a good run in theatres over the weekend, ‘Metro In Dino’ has witnessed a decline in numbers on Monday.

According to the website, ‘Metro In Dino’ collected Rs 2.50 crore as per early estimates. The movie has earned Rs 19.25 crore in total.
‘Metro In Dino’ serves as the spiritual sequel to Anurag Basu’s 2007 movie ‘Life In A Metro’. The movie starred Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, Shilpa Shetty, Kay Kay Menon, Shiney Ahuja, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, and Sharman Joshi in the lead roles.
Both ‘Metro In Dino’ and ‘Life In A Metro’ focus on themes of modern relationships and love in urban cities.
Earlier, while speaking to Mid-Day, Fatima Sana Shaikh praised Anurag Basu and shared her experience of working with him in Metro In Dino and Ludo. She told Mid-Day, “As a director, he is considerate and takes care of you. People think if the film is taking long, a lot of shoot is being done. But that’s not the case. Since his films have an ensemble cast, he has to coordinate the dates of so many actors. If you trust him, he will get the best performance out of you. Also, his characters are so well-written.”
On the work front, Anurag Basu will next direct an untitled romantic drama, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela.
