The much anticipated Tovino Thomas and Suraj Venjaramoodu starrer Narivetta finally has an OTT release date. The Malayalam action drama is set against the backdrop of Kerala’s tribal heartlands, Narivetta unfolds a gripping narrative inspired by the real life 2003 Muthanga tribal protest. The film delves deep into the complexities of land rights, state authority, and the resilience of marginalised communities.
When And Where To Watch
Narivetta will premiere on SonyLIV on July 11, 2025. Sharing a short teaser a bunch of still from the film, SonyLiv wrote in the caption of the post, “Echoes of truth, shadows of injustice! Watch Narivetta from July 11 only on Sony LIV.” Tovino was also tagged in a separate post, which shared a bunch of still from the film.

Cast
The film features Tovino Thomas as Varghese and Suraj Venjaramoodu as Officer Bashir Ahmed. Priyamvada Krishnan plays Nancy. The film also features Cheran, Arya Salim, Rini Udayakumar in lead roles.
Plot
Narivetta follows the story of Varghese a young man who refuses to take up any job, thinking none of them are “respectable enough.” He is in love with Nancy, but she gets tired of his careless attitude and breaks up with him, asking him to get serious about life. Eventually, Varghese joins the CRPF as a constable.
Life in the force isn’t easy for him, his seniors often mock him. However, he finds support in Officer Bashir Ahmed, who becomes a mentor and friend. The film then follows a case that is inspired by the real life 2003 Muthanga tribal protest.
