Anurag Kashyap Comment

While interacting with Gulf News, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap opened up about working in a Malayalam movie for the first time. He said, “I learnt so much from the way those guys were. Unlike Hindi cinema, they don’t have these massive vanity vans. The entire focus was on the film. I borrowed that and brought it into my film here in Bombay.”

He added, “Hindi doesn’t have the courage to do stories like that. When I try to do that, I am dissuaded from doing it (such films). Hindi (films) is all about making Rs 1,000 crore; they are obsessed with box-office (numbers). The thing that is destroying cinema is that whole formula. It has become impossible.”
