Opting for a course in fiction writing, she enrolled at Goldsmiths College, University of London. In a recent conversation with the YouTube channel “A Suitable Agency,” Twinkle opened up about her experiences during this transformative journey.

A Dual Admission Dilemma:

During the admission process, Twinkle Khanna found herself in a unique situation. Simultaneously, her son Aarav was also seeking admission to universities abroad. Recounting this period, she shared, “There was a university to which both of us had applied. And we were scared. It was not our first choice college, but in my mind I was like, ‘Oh my God, if I get admitted here, my son will be on campus and will see me. We’ll pretend not to know each other because that’s not cool at all.”

A Long-Held Desire Comes to Life:

Reflecting on her longstanding desire to attend university, Twinkle recalled advocating for her educational aspirations when her son was young. She used to express her wish to the school counselor, who advised her to focus on her child’s needs first. Undeterred, Twinkle viewed this advice with a sense of humor, challenging the perceived misogyny in societal expectations.

Once enrolled, Twinkle Khanna embraced her university experience, making friends with individuals of varying ages. Describing her newfound camaraderie, she shared, “I suddenly had friends from the university. I had four friends, and we were called Scribes in the City. One of us was 66 years old. I am 50 years old. So we were two old men and two 25-year-old girls. I must say that both of us old women had left 25-year-old girls behind. But it was very good.”
