Chhattisgarh: In a shocking incident that unfolded in Surguja’s Batauli town, a minor student committed suicide after being forbidden from using a mobile phone by his family. According to News24 reporter Ram Kumar Yadav, the deceased boy ended his life after hanging himself with the help of a rope from a tree branch in a jungle. The entire incident occurred in Maheshpur village under the Sitapur police station limits.
Minor Ends Life In A Fit Of Rage
Scolding their son over a mobile phone proved costly to the family, after which he took the extreme step. The tragic event unfolded after family members asked the boy, identified as Vikram Singh, a student of class 9, to study. He often remained busy with his mobile phone, sometimes for the whole day. After being scolded, the minor, in a fit of rage, ended his life by hanging himself.
Police Launch Probe
The incident reportedly took place around 2.30 pm. The minor boy was the son of Sangram Singh, a resident of Kasaideh. After the suicide news broke in the village, his family was left devastated. Police are currently investigating the matter.
