Congress Leader Rajeev Shukla SLAMS Pakistan At UNGA, Calls It ‘Habitual Of Spreading Misinformation’

Congress MP Rajeev Shukla participated and represented India in the General Debate of the Fourth Committee of UN General Assembly.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Shukla hit out at Pakistan for raising the issue of Kashmir unnecessarily at the United Nations. He criticized Pakistani Delegation for its lies and asserted that real democracies function differently. Congress MP said, “Real democracies function differently, the people of Jammu and Kashmir turned out in record numbers in the recently concluded free and fair elections.” He reinstated that no amount of misinformation or disinformation can change facts on the ground. He alleged that the delegation of Pakistan continues to bring up the Kashmir issue to the table and spread false information.

Congress MP Urges Pakistan To Engage Constructively In The Forum

Furthermore, Shukla advised the Pakistani Delegation and urged them to engage more constructively in this forum, rather than using it for their divisive political agenda. In his address, he called the delegation as habitual of spreading misinformation.

He declared India’s continuous support to fight against the virus of misinformation together and to deliver a positive and reliable impact for peace and better world.

Sharing the post on X about his address at the United Nations, Shukla wrote, “Today in United Nations I spoke in debate on issue of importance of information and India’s role in it.”

Shukla participated and represented India in the General Debate of the Fourth Committee of UN General Assembly on Questions related to Information.

Notably, Jammu and Kashmir had witnessed assembly elections after a decade, following the abrogation of Article 370. The election was held in three phases on 18 September, 25September and 1 October. The election was conducted successfully and results were announced on 8th October. Jammu and Kashmir National Conference had secured victory in the assembly elections and formed the government in the Union Territory. NC Vice President Omar Abdullah was elected as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. All political parties including BJP, Congress, National Conference, PDP, Apni Party, Democratic Progressive Azad Party and CPI (M) had actively participated in the polls. As per reports, 3.71 lakh were first-time voters and 20.7 lakh were young voters.
