New Delhi: Haryana Assembly election result trend reveals much clearer picture now. A fierce competition for victory is underway between the two major parties in the state, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Congress. By afternoon, the list of potential chief ministers of the state has also become clearer, with several prominent faces from both parties have come to the fore. However, the question remains: who does the citizens there in the northern state want as new Haryana CM? A survey by India Today has revealed following findings:
Congress Dilemma
Five major faces have emerged as the probabilities of new Haryana CM from the Congress Party. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is a strong contender for this post. To challenge him, Kumari Selja, regarded as the Dalit woman face of Congress, is also in the race. Additionally, supporters of Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda have put forward his name as a probable CM face. Speculations are also rife about Randeep Singh Surjewala and Uday Bhan potentially being considered for the role of the elected head of the state.
Who Will Be The New Haryana CM If BJP Wins?
If the incumbent party scores a hat-trick victory in Haryana, who will be new Haryana CM? Three probabilities have emerged in this context. The current elected head of the state, Nayab Singh Saini may continue if his party retains the battleground. Moreover, Anil Vij, the MLA from Ambala Cantt, is being suggested as a candidate for this post as well.
Who Does People Want?
According to the India Today-C Voter survey, the citizens want Bhupinder Singh Hooda as the new Haryana CM. In the survey, 30.8% of respondents supported the former CM. Coming in second was Nayab Singh Saini, with 22.1% claim share. The third choice for the Haryana CM position was Deepender Singh Hooda, who received thumbs up from 9.55 of the respondents. Additionally, Kumari Selja stands in fourth place with 4.9% popularity. The candidate with the least support in this survey was Manohar Lal Khattar, with only 4.5% of the survey participants in his favour.
