IMD Weather Update: Heatwave Warning For Odisha, Temperature Shifts Across India In Coming Days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for Odisha, predicting temperatures could soar to 45°C in certain areas over the next few days.

The weather forecast for the coming days indicates a gradual shift in temperatures across different regions of India. Northwest India will experience a 3-5°C drop in maximum temperatures over the next three days, followed by a rise of 2-3°C. East India is likely to see a 2-3°C increase in maximum temperatures over the next two days, while no significant change is expected thereafter.

In Gujarat, temperatures will remain stable for the next three days, before rising by 2-3°C. Central India will experience a gradual fall in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C in the coming days, with no significant change afterward. Heatwave conditions are likely in isolated pockets of Odisha from 28th to 30th March, and hot & humid weather will prevail in parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Gujarat. Additionally, Delhi NCR has seen a rise in both minimum and maximum temperatures recently, with clear skies and mild winds.

Heat Wave And Hot & Humid Weather Warning

1. Heat wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets of interior Odisha during 28th30th March.

2. Hot & humid weather conditions are likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 28th & 29th; coastal areas of Gujarat during 29th-31st March.

Past Weather In Delhi NCR

There has been a rise in minimum and maximum temperatures up to 02°C over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 35 to 40°C and 17 to 21°C respectively. The minimum temperature was above normal up to 04°C and maximum temperature above normal up to 07°C at most places.

Mainly clear sky conditions with predominant surface wind from the southwest/east direction with wind speeds less than 10 to 12 kmph prevailed during the past 24 hours. Mainly clear sky conditions with wind speed less than 12 kmph from the southwest direction prevailed over the region in the forenoon today.
