IMD Weather Update: Heavy Rainfall Expected In Tamil Nadu, Coastal AP & Kerala, Delhi’s Air Quality Remains ‘Very Poor’

The AQI across Delhi dipped into the 'Very Poor' category in several areas today. Amid this, the children were spotted skating at Kartavya Path as a layer of smog engulfed the area surrounding India Gate. AQI in the area has been recorded at 357, categorized as 'very poor'.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Kerala & Mahe from November 11 to 15. Additionally, heavy rainfall is also expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema on November 12.

Isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh may experience dense fog conditions in the night/morning hours from November 10 to 12. Similar conditions are also likely to prevail in night/morning hours in isolated pockets of Northwest Punjab on November 10 and 11.

According to IMD, Minimum temperature is likely to decline by 2-3℃ over Western Himalayan Region during the next 4-5 days. No large change in Minimum temperature over the remaining parts of the country is expected during the week.

Delhi/NCR: There has been no significant change in maximum/minimum temperature over Delhi/NCR during past the 24 hours. The Maximum and Minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 30-32°C and 15 -20°C respectively. The region is expected to experience a clear sky from November 9 to 12.

AQI: A layer of smog engulfed the Red Fort & surrounding areas on Sunday as the AQI in Chandni Chowk was recorded at 207, categorized as ‘poor’ according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). However, the AQI across Delhi dipped into the ‘Very Poor’ category in several areas today. Amid this, the children were spotted skating at Kartavya Path as a layer of smog engulfed the area surrounding India Gate. AQI in the area has been recorded at 357, categorized as ‘very poor’.

Reports stated that the national capital’s AQI improved slightly to 351 at 6 pm from 358 at 9 am.
