Jharkhand: Hemant Soren Stakes Claim To Form Next Govt, Set To Take Oath On November 28

Hemant Soren said that, "On 28 November the oath ceremony of the new government will take place. "

JMM-led INDIA Bloc gets clear majority in Jharkhand assembly elections 2024. Jharkhand had its polling in two phases. First phase was on November 13 and second was on November 20. JMM-led INDIA bloc has crossed the majority mark and will be forming the government in Jharkhand.

JMM Chief Hemant Soren tendered his resignation to the Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and staked a claim to form Government, at the Raj Bhawan.

Speaking to ANI, Hemant Soren said that, “On 28 November the oath ceremony of the new government will take place. “

Jharkhand is all set to get its new government on Thursday, November 28. Soren said that, “Today I have resigned from the current government to the Governor and staked claim for the next government. He has entrusted me with the responsibility of the caretaker Chief Minister.”

He further stated that, “Today we have started the procedure to form the (INDIA) alliance government and in that series, we have staked a claim to form Government in front of the Governor. I also tendered my resignation to him. Congress and the RJD in charge were also present here. On 28 November the oath ceremony will take place.”

JMM-led INDIA has won 56 seats, which includes, JMM’s 34, Congress’ 16, RJD’s with 4 and CPI (ML) (L)’ 2. Whereas, BJP-led NDA alliance lost in the election as they got 24 seats, which includes, BJP’s 21, Lok Janshakti Party(Ram Vilas)’  1, Janata Dal (United)’ 1 and AJSU’s Party with 1.

The fight is for 81 seats in Jharkhand election. As the result is finally out JMM-led INDIA bloc got 56 seats out of 81 seats. Whereas, BJP-led NDA alliance didn’t cross the majority and got only 24 seats. Now Jharkhand has got its winner as JMM-led INDIA bloc.

The oath taking ceremony to be held on November 28, 2024.
