Karnataka: Three, Including Two Teachers, Held For Raping College Student In Bengaluru

As per the police complaint, Narendra, a physics teacher, befriended the victim by helping her with subject notes. She called her to his friend, Anoop’s room, and allegedly raped her.

In a shocking incident, a woman student was allegedly gangraped by her Physics, Biology teachers and their friend in Karnataka’s Bengaluru. The police arrested all three accused in the case.

Victim blackmailed, assaulted multiple times

According to NDTV, the woman was blackmailed and raped by the accused on multiple occasions. The accused have been identified as Narendra, Sandeep, and their friend, Anoop. 

As per the police complaint, Narendra, a physics teacher, befriended the victim by helping her with subject notes. She called her to his friend, Anoop’s room, and allegedly raped her. He threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke with anyone about the incident.

Accused threatened to make the victim’s photographs public

Later, Sandeep, a Biology teacher, threatened to make the victim’s photographs with Narendra public if she did not comply with his demands. He then allegedly raped her at Anoop’s residence.

The woman’s parents approached the State Commission for Women, following which a case was registered at the Marathahalli police station.

Eight dead as vehicle carrying 13 people crashes in Uttarakhand

Eight people were killed after a vehicle carrying 13 passengers met with an accident near the Suni bridge in Muwani town of Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, a police officer said on Tuesday.

Pithoragarh Superintendent of Police (SP) Rekha Yadav confirmed the incident and stated that a rescue operation is currently underway.

“Eight people died after a vehicle carrying 13 people crashed near the Suni bridge in Muwani town. The police officials have reached the spot and rescue operations are underway,” SP Yadav said.
