Monsoon LIVE Updates: Monsoon is expected to pick up pace in different parts of the country in the upcoming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely heavy rainfall to continue over Northwest, Central, East & Northeast India during the next 7 days.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Monday and said that the sky may remain cloudy throughout the day and there may be thunderstorms along with moderate rain at some places. On Sunday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius. At the same time, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality of the capital remained at “satisfactory” level.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds for the next four days across Delhi-NCR.
According to IMD, “Extremely heavy rainfall (>20 cm/24 hours) likely at isolated places over Jharkhand on 30th June. Isolated heavy rainfall over Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh during 30th June-05th July.”

Light to moderate rainfall is likely to persist across most parts of Northeast India over the next 7 days, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and isolated heavy showers. Very heavy rainfall is expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on July 2nd and 3rd, and over Assam & Meghalaya again on July 6th.
Light/moderate rainfall is likely at many/some places over Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka; isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorm, lightning over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema during the next 7 days.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Konkan & Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat state during the next 7 days.
Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh from 30th June to 6th July; Bihar, Odisha during 30th June-4th July; Vidarbha, Gangetic West Bengal on 30th June, 1st July and during 04th-6th July with very heavy rainfall over Madhya Pradesh on 30th June, 1st, 04th & 05th July; East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh 30th June, 1st, 3rd & 04th July; Bihar during 30th June; 2nd July, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand on 30th June; Odisha during 30th June-3rd July.
