Now, Delhi To Meerut In Just 40 Minutes! PM Modi Launches RRTS Rapid Rail’s New Section- Check Stations & Fare

The fare for travel from Delhi to Meerut will cost Rs 150 in a standard coach and Rs 225 in a premium coach.

In a Significant boost to Delhi’s infrastructure and transportation system, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple projects which worth over ₹12,200 crore in Delhi on Sunday, January 5. The notable project among those inaugurated by Modi is the new additional 13-kilometre Delhi section of Namo Bharat Corridor. Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) is worth Rs 4,600 crore. And With this now you can commute from Delhi to Meerut in just 40 minutes. This is going to further boost trade and tourism between both the cities.

Namo Bharat Corridor

The new launch will offer commuters a fast and efficient travel option between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South RRTS stations. With this, Namo Bharat trains will now arrive in Delhi. Currently, a 42-km stretch of the corridor between Sahidabad and Meerut South is operational which is featuring 9 stations. With the new stretch operational, the Namo Bharat Corridor will expand to 55 km, with a total of 11 stations. The entire 82-kilometer corridor is expected to become operational by June. Public service on the Namo Bharat trains will begin at 5 pm on Sunday(January 5 2025), with a frequency of 15-minute intervals between the trains. Once the entire Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor becomes operational completely, it is expected to remove over 1.5 lakh private vehicles from the roads, which will result in the reduction of carbon emissions by 2.5 lakh tones annually.

Stations And Fare From New Ashok Nagar Station To Meerut South

The fare for travel from Delhi to Meerut will cost Rs 150 in a standard coach and Rs 225 in a premium coach. Namo Bharat train services operate over a 42 Km stretch from Sahibabad to Meerut South, covering 9 stations- Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North, and Meerut South. Now this will increase to 11 stations.

Anand Vihar Station

This station is expected to become one of busiest passenger terminals, with a substantial footfall due to its proximity to a metro station serving two metro lines, a railway station, and two ISBTs of two states namely Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Currently, the rapid rail operates between Sahibabad and Meerut South, covering 42 kilometers. The rapid rail station is equipped with escalators, lifts, and a separate entry for seamless access. Footbridges connect the station with nearby metro stations and bus terminals.
