However, on Sunday, Ajit Pawar and other rebel MLAs of his faction met NCP chief for the first time to request him to keep the party intact, but he did not responded to their request.

After meeting Pawar, Patel said that they went to seek the blessings of NCP chief and asked him to not break the party.

“We all came here to seek the blessings of respected Sharad Pawar today. We requested Pawar sahib that NCP should stay united. On this, Sharad Pawar did not give any reaction,” said Patel, while speaking to the media.

Meanwhile, earlier on Monday, National spokesperson of NCP, Mahesh Tapase announced that Pawar and NCP national spokesperson Supriya Sule will skip the today’s opposition meeting. On the other hand, they will attend meeting on the second day i.e. July 18.

Taking the matter to Twitter, Tapase wrote, “Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule will participate in the Opposition meeting tomorrow, 18th July…”

The two day opposition meeting in Bengaluru is aimed to chalk out the common strategy to dethrone the Narendra Modi led – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Centre in the upcoming lok sabha elections 2024. A total of 26 political parties will participate in the meeting.
