West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that the Trinamool Congress (TMC)did not receive any request to name a member for the Centre’s multi-party diplomatic mission aimed at countering Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said” No request came to us. If a request came to us, then we could consider it. We are in favour of the country. In the external affairs issue, we have always supported the policy of the Centre. At present, we are supporting the Central government’s views and actions. They cannot decide the member’s name on their own. It is not their choice, it is the choice of the party. If they request me to send someone, we will decide the name and tell them. It is not that we are boycotting or that we are not going.”

“They (Centre) cannot decide the name. If they request the mother party, the party will decide the name. This is the customary; this is the system. We are with the Central Govt regarding external affairs policy and we are fully supporting them,” the chief minister said.
The chief minister was replying to a question on TMC MP Yusuf Pathan’s name in the list of all-party delegations visiting key partner countries to showcase India’s continued fight against terrorism and Operation Sindoor.

The multi-party delegation, consisting of seven groups led by one MP each, has been initiated to counter global misinformation and highlight India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.
‘Neither Yusuf Pathan nor any other TMC MP will be part of the multi-party delegation’
According to sources, neither Yusuf Pathan nor any other TMC MP will be part of the multi-party delegations visiting various countries to campaign against Pakistan’s cross-border terrorism.
As part of its effort to counter global misinformation and highlight India’s policy of zero tolerance on terrorism, the government has dispatched seven all-party delegations of Indian MPs to over 30 partner countries.
‘One Mission, One Message, One Bharat’
The mission operates under the theme “One Mission, One Message, One Bharat,” with a unified goal of presenting India’s response to terrorism in the wake of Operation Sindoor.
This global outreach follows the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that claimed 26 lives. In response, Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, targeting terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Over 100 terrorists affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen were eliminated. India also carried out coordinated airstrikes that damaged military infrastructure across 11 Pakistani airbases.
