Yamuna Authority To Acquire 41 Villages In Jewar And Aligarh For Noida Airport Expansion

The CEO said the farmers, whose land will be acquired, will receive the allotment letters for plots equivalent to 7% of their acquired land.

The Yamuna authority is going to purchase 41 villages in Jewar and Aligarh for the expansion of Noida Airport. The Yamuna authority will buy lands from farmers of 41 villages soon. The authority is preparing land banks for developmental projects. The authority will buy 13, 300 acres of land from farmers and the process has been started.

Dr Arunveer Singh, CEO of Yamuna Authority, said during the 84th board meeting in March, that a budget of Rs 5000 crore was allocated for land acquisition out of the proposed budget of Rs 9200 crores.  

After the ongoing construction of the airport, the demand for land has gone up. The authority will acquire land from Aligarh’s five villages and 36 villages of Gautam Budh Nagar. 

Allotment letters for plots to be issued within three months 

The CEO of Yamuna Authority said the process to acquire land in 41 villages will begin soon. The CEO said the farmers, whose land will be acquired, will receive the allotment letters for plots equivalent to 7% of their acquired land. He said all the basic amenities will be developed on the plots within a year. The CEO said the farmer will receive an agreement letter on the day they complete the land registry process.

Survey to start soon

It is expected the Yamuna authority will soon begin the survey of the 41 villages. According to sources, officials are in touch with farmers and a conversation has started and an accord has reportedly been established on the compensation amount.  The survey may start this month.
