Guru Purnima festival, a symbol of the Guru-disciple tradition, was celebrated with full devotion and reverence at Patanjali Yogpeeth. On this occasion, Patanjali Yogpeeth founder & president Swami Ramdev and general secretary Acharya Balkrishna exchanged garlands and greeted each other. Baba Ramdev described this day as an opportunity to establish Sanatan Dharma as Yugdharma and said that this festival is the essence of India’s Rishi, Vedas, and Guru-disciple tradition.
Addressing the students of Patanjali University at a program organized at Yoga Bhavan Auditorium, located in Patanjali Wellness Yogpeeth-2, Baba Ramdev said that they should live with the life values and divinity of sages, which will generate a new consciousness at the global level.
He added that there is a race for dominance worldwide, but this dominance should be of truth, yoga, spirituality, and justice. In the present times, religious fanaticism, ideological frenzy, and political, intellectual, and economic terrorism are spreading. At such a time, India will play the role of a guide that will give the world the right direction in education, medicine, economy, society, and politics.
Acharya Balkrishna said in his statement that Guru Purnima is a day that shows the importance of the Guru-disciple tradition. But it is meaningful only when the disciple must have respect for his Guru and follow his guidance and principles. He also added that India is once again on the path of becoming a world leader on the strength of Yoga, Ayurveda, Sanatan, and Vedic knowledge.
On the occasion, Executive Chairman of the Indian Education Board N.P. Singh said that Patanjali is bringing a new wave of change in the field of education.
Under the program, an Akhand Bhandara was also organized by Patanjali Yogpeeth for the Kanwar pilgrims, in which Baba Ramdev himself served food to the devotees of Shiva.
