On June 5, 2025, at the World Environment Expo in Greater Noida, the PrashantAdvait Foundation was recognised as the Best Animal Welfare Organisation. The award acknowledged the Foundation’s work in protecting animals—efforts that include helping over 1 million animals and encouraging more than 50,000 families to move away from animal-based products.
But numbers don’t really explain the Foundation’s approach. Their work has never been about just doing more—it’s about seeing more clearly. The belief that drives them is simple: we treat others better when we see ourselves more honestly.
The Foundation was started with the idea that inner change has to come first. Without that, even the best of campaigns start to feel mechanical. Instead of telling people what not to do, they try to bring people to a place where they genuinely don’t want to cause harm anymore—because they understand, because something within shifts.
One of the most striking examples of this was seen recently during the Gadhimai Festival in Nepal, which is infamous for its large-scale animal sacrifices. The Foundation did not respond with outrage or confrontation, but with clarity and calm. In 2024, it took a firm yet peaceful stand by engaging with the media in Patna—appealing to devotees to refrain from animal slaughter and to avoid illegal cross-border transport of animals. Without sensationalism or pressure tactics, the message was simple: compassion must come not from fear or rules, but from a place of inner awakening.
At the awards ceremony, representatives of the Foundation accepted the honour on behalf of the entire team. The organisers noted how the Foundation’s work bridges personal awareness and public action—not treating animal welfare as a standalone issue, but tying it into how we live, eat, celebrate, and think.
Some of the recent work that the Foundation has reported includes:
- Protection of over one million animals.
- Helping more than fifty thousand families shift toward a plant-based or cruelty-free lifestyle.
- Engaging with communities during festivals and events to reduce harm toward animals.
The World Environment Expo brings together organisations working across areas like sustainability, conservation, and ethical living. In a country where several NGOs are doing work in animal welfare, the recognition of PrashantAdvait Foundation stands out.
That said, no one at the Foundation is celebrating in any loud way. This isn’t the end of anything. If at all, it’s a moment to pause and recommit. Their focus remains what it always has been: to help people look within, because that’s where real compassion begins. You can’t be forced to care—not truly. But when you start seeing clearly, when the noise inside settles a bit, kindness follows.
