On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Swami Ramdev Ji will be present in Kurukshetra along with the Chief Minister of Haryana Nayab singh saini. With the guidance of Swami Ramdev and the support of Haryana Yoga Commission and AYUSH Department, this campaign is being run with the aim of giving a historic shape to the ceremony to be held at Brahmasarovar on June 21.
According to Bhai Rakesh Kumar ‘Bharat’, National Coordinator of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, this time a large number of yoga lovers are expected to come from all over the country. Despite the scorching heat, the work of spreading awareness about yoga by going from village to village and house to house is going on at a fast pace. Volunteers are connecting people to the main event through regular yoga sessions and dialogue programs.
Yoga camps have been organized at schools, community centers and public places in many places including Pipli, Shahabad, Pehowa, Thanesar and Ladwa in Kurukshetra. Special morning camps were also organised in villages like Rodi Shaheedan and Angrawali Dharamshala near Ismailabad, aimed at familiarising people with the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga, especially promoting drug-free and healthy living.
The administration is also fully supporting this initiative. Officials like former Union minister Subhash Sudha, Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh and SP Nitish Angrawali have joined the yoga practice at the Dronacharya Stadium.
Patanjali teams from Uttar Pradesh and Punjab have taken the campaign forward along with local workers. Women’s participation has also been given priority and special sessions have been organised by sadhvis and women trainers in areas like Shahabad, Jind and Sushant City.
Also, social media, awareness campaigns at shops and school contact programmes have further strengthened public relations. Elders, youth and religious leaders are playing an important role in taking this campaign to the masses and motivating people to participate in the main Yoga Day event to be held at Brahma Sarovar.
