Authorities enforce strict food regulations to maintain health standards and spiritual integrity. These regulations are in place to avoid any unhealthy practices that may lead the pilgrims to illness. As pilgrims prepare for their journey, here is a complete guide to the foods that are allowed and those that are strictly prohibited during the yatra.

The registration for the biggest Hindu pilgrimage, Amarnath Yatra 2025, will kick off from July 25 to August 19.  According to the Shri Amarnathji Shrine board, devotees can now register online and book their dates for the pilgrimage and darshan. Daily, 15,000 pilgrims will trek to witness the ice lingam that symbolises Lord Shiva. You can get all the information from the  Shri Amarnathji Shrine board website.

About The Temple

The Amarnath Temple in Jammu and Kashmir is one of the holiest shrines for Hindus. Dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of a linga, it is located in a cave on the Amarnath mountain at an altitude of 3,888 meters. The South Kashmir Himalayas house the Amarnath Cave. Snow covers the route to the cave for most of the year, so authorities only organise the yatra—the annual pilgrimage—once a year. Security forces oversee the pilgrimage under strict protection due to the high risk of militancy in the region.
