An IIT graduate and co-founder from Bengaluru shared how his life changed after he left his job at Flipkart to start his own business.
Harsh Pokharna, the CEO from Bengaluru, shared his journey on social media about building his company, saying it still has a “long way to go.” In his post, he talked about quitting his job at Flipkart to start his own business and how he faced failures with his first startup before finding success with his current one.
“I quit Flipkart to build a startup because I wanted to make a lot of money very quickly. Founders were raising millions of dollars in funding all around me. It seemed easy,” Pokharna wrote.
He mentioned that for the first two years after quitting, he tried three different ideas but failed. This made him use up his savings and turn to freelancing to survive.
Later, he co-founded OkCredit and has been working on it for the past eight years. He said that his journey taught him an important lesson: Startups don’t equal instant success.
“It’s a long-term game, not a get rich quick scheme. Play it only if you truly want to solve a problem, or you’ll end up disappointed,” he added.
