Becuase Rishabh Pant led team LSG has once again voilated the code of conduct, BCCI decieded to punish with a hefty fine of Rs. 30 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate. This penalty, significantly higher than the usual Rs. 12 lakh fine for over-rate. The LSG’s skipper finished IPL 2025 on somewhat mixed feelings. Becuase he put his bad luck with his bat on hold by smashing 118 runs from just 61 balls helping LSG post 227 runs at the loss of 3 wickets agaisnt RCB. Rishabh Pant was unhappy because even sharing the points for a tie didn’t help secure a victory as RCB achieved their total in 18.4 overs with six wickets left.
BCCI’s Statemet Regarding The Fine
“Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match No. 70 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Tuesday,” BCCI said in a release shared on Wednesday morning.

“As it was his team’s third offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Rishabh Pant was fined INR 30 Lakh.”
RCB Vs LSG Match Highlights
RCB chased 228 runs agaisnt LSG making it into the top two for the 18th edition of IPL. RCB’s skipper Jitesh Sharma got to 85 runs off just 33 balls to outdo Rishabh Pant’s brilliant century for LSG. Pant played just 61 balls and made 118 runs and helped LSG high the team’s IPL record for a good total. Jitesh’s amazing playing made it possible for RCB to advance to Qualifier 1. Virat Kohli scored a half-century and tied his name to three new records during the match.
