Former England captian Michael Vaughan Believes that Jofra Archer has no place in the playing XI of the 2nd Test against India at Edgbaston, which begins next week. But the current England Skipper Ben Stokes is excited to play with his teammate once again in the Test cricket formate after 4 years.
Ben Stokes’ Statement About Jofra Archer
England, leading 1-0 in the five-match series, has yet to announce their squad for the second Test at Edgbaston, set to begin on July 2.
“It’s always great seeing Jofra out there, playing for England, playing for Sussex. It’s obviously been a very long time for him and watching him get that red ball back in his hand is very exciting,” England skipper Ben Stokes had said on Archer’s return to red-ball cricket.

Jofra Archer’s Test Cricket Stats
In his 13 matches in the England national cricket team in tests, Jofra Archer has grabbed 42 and conceded 1304 runs. Archer is a red-ball match-winner, as he demonstrated because of his speed and aggression. He has a record of a best match returns of six wickets and 85 runs and a best single innings record of 6 wickets and 45 runs. The rate of the economy of 2.99 signifies his capability of bowling long spells. Archer has had limited Tests outings because of injuries but has made an impact and is as of now one of the most effective fast-bowling alternatives in England when he is at full fitness.
But still even after having such promising Test cricket stats the former England skipper Michael Vaughan thinks that Archer still has to play plenty of red ball cricket with Sussex, prior to the Test at Lord starting on July 10.
