Champions Trophy: Michael Vaughan And Ravi Shastri Criticize England’s Early Exit

The last group stage matches in Group B will determine the semifinal encounters. The top team from each group will meet the second team from the other group.

Afghanistan shocked England and knocked them out of Champions Trophy 2025 following which former cricketer Michael Vaughan wasn’t surprised at England’s early exit. The match was held at Gaddafi Stadium. With a total of 325/7 on the board, Afghanistan managed to hold off England by just eight runs in a thrilling contest.

Vaughan reflected on the result, and pointed out that England has not been good enough in white-ball cricket especially in subcontinent conditions. Afghanistan’s victory brought back the memories of similar win against England in 2023 ODI World Cup at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
