India will be playing the third Test against England at the iconic venue – Lords Cricket Ground and the stakes are very high as Shubman Gill & Co. will be looking forward to continue their winning momentum and keep their dominance. But one of the biggest question that lingers is whether Kuldeep Yadav will get to play today or not. Kuldeep has not played a single match till now which raised many questions and while the Indian skipper Shubman Gill mentioned about picking Washington Sundar for the batting depth he brings instead of Kuldeep Yadav. Fans are still curious to know whether he will get a chance in playing XI today.
“We were tempted to play Kuldeep, but looking at the last match, our lower order didn’t do well, so we decided to add some depth to the batting.” said Shubman Gill on Kuldeep Yadav’s exclusion from Edgbaston Test

Kuldeep Yadav has returned to Test format after a long break due to injury. He last played the Test series at home against New Zealand which India lost. It is also important to note that in 13 Tests Kuldeep has 56 wickets out of which he has picked 21 against England.
The Lord’s pitch for this Test has been prepared with an incline of green, providing sufficient grass cover. It is likely to yield plenty of seam and swing action, especially on the first two days. Traditionally, Lord’s favors fast bowlers early, particularly with the overhead weather in London commonly favorable to traditional swing.

The slope of the ground, which is a feature unique to Lord’s, also makes things difficult for the batters as it induces natural movement even without ostentatious action. Hence, considering the bounce and movement of the pitch which is going to favour the fast bowlers it is unlikely that Kuldeep Yadav will get a chance in the third Test.
