CSK would be releasing some of their below-par players in the lead-up to the 2026 auction, possibly releasing Rs 25–30 crore from their purse. This money would be used by the franchise to go all out to get high-impact guys like Samson and rebuild their bowling department, another department that was lacking teeth last year.
Veterans who struggled through 2025 may be gone, paving the way for new talent and new life. But with this purging also comes a leadership reset a real possibility and Samson could be the man to lead the way into a new era.
