From Believing In Jassi Bhai To ‘Dialogue Change’ – How Arshdeep Singh Teases Mohammed Siraj Post 6-Fer

The light-hearted exchange came after Siraj’s sensational six-wicket haul turned the game decisively in India’s favour.

In a heartwarming and humorous moment after Day 3 of the second Test between India and England, pacer Arshdeep Singh interrupted teammate Mohammed Siraj’s post-match interview to cheekily update one of Siraj’s most iconic quotes. The light-hearted exchange came after Siraj’s sensational six-wicket haul turned the game decisively in India’s favour.

Siraj’s Game-Changing Spell

Bowling with fire and precision at Edgbaston, Siraj was instrumental in halting England’s momentum. After Harry Brook and Jamie Smith had stitched together a record 300-run stand, Siraj bulldozed through the middle and lower order to claim figures of 6 for 70 – his fourth five-wicket haul in Test cricket. His efforts left England trailing by 180 runs and swung the match firmly in India’s direction.

“Dialogue Change, Bhai!” – Arshdeep Jumps In

Just as Siraj began his post-day reflections with the BCCI, Arshdeep made an impromptu entrance and, with a mischievous grin, declared:

“Bhai, dialogue change. I only believe in myself and Jassi bhai. Aaj se dialogue change hai. Plan mein halka sa change hai – I believe in myself and Jassi bhai!”

It was a playful twist on Siraj’s viral comment following India’s T20 World Cup triumph in June. Back then, Siraj had famously said:

“I only believe on Jassi bhai, because game-changer player he is, only one guy – Jasprit Bumrah.”

Arshdeep’s update to the quote not only brought a smile to Siraj’s face but also reflected the camaraderie and mutual admiration within the Indian pace unit.

Team Spirit on Display

Siraj’s performance went beyond personal milestones. He shared the limelight with fellow pacer Akash Deep, who impressed with a four-wicket haul in just his second Test. In a classy gesture, Siraj revealed he had even contemplated easing his intensity slightly to help Akash bag a maiden five-for.

“I really wanted him to get five wickets. He bowled so well and deserved it,” Siraj said during the interview.

Stepping Up in Bumrah’s Absence

Despite being a vocal admirer of Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj has shown he can thrive even when leading the attack. His stats underline that point: while he has taken 69 wickets in 33 Tests alongside Bumrah at an average of 33.82, Siraj has been even more lethal without his senior partner picking up 39 wickets in just 15 Tests at an average of 25.20.

This latest performance not only highlights Siraj’s growing stature in the Indian setup but also showcases the depth and strength of the pace battery, a unit built on skill, humility, and infectious team spirit.
