Yashasvi Jaiswal expressed his ideology after scoring a brilliant century on Day One of the first Test at Headingley, Leeds, on Friday June 20 against England. Jaiswal scored 101 runs (159 balls) and was the first foreign batsmen to score a century on debut in Australia and England. He too was the fifth Indian batsman to score the feat in England. His role at the crease was instrumental as India ended their innings in that day with 359 runs against three wickets. Jaiswal himself gave the clear explanations to how he just needed to stay honest to himself and enjoy the game.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Statement
“I just try to be myself and try to go out there and enjoy the game and prepare really well, so that’s, that’s what I do all the time.”
“Nothing much as we had very, very good practise sessions and matches before a few weeks and we were trying to make it as simple as possible and try to play within the area. And if there is a loose ball, I always believe that we need to go for it and I really enjoyed it,” said Jaiswal.
