ENG Vs IND: Why Are England Players Wearing Red Cap And Red Kit In Lord’s Today?

The English players are wearing Red caps and Red printed kits on day 2.

The English batters, Joe Root and Ben Stokes, went out on Day 2 of the third Test at Lord’s after finishing for 251/4 on day 1, with the former just 1 run short of his 37th Test hundred. But not like every day, the England players are wearing Red caps and Red printed kits on day 2. Today is ‘Red Day’ at Lord’s in support of the Ruth Strauss Foundation. The whole ground is flooded with red caps, jackets, shirts, etc. There was also a small ceremony before the game started. The players also lined up in a heart formation around Sir Andrew Strauss, his sons, and some other children rang the bell. Some fireworks went off, and there was red smoke rising above the Lord’s as well.

Three months later, Sir Andrew Strauss established the Ruth Strauss Foundation. Two fantastically successful years of raising awareness of their cause regarding non-smoking lung cancers and developing a community of committed supporters later, they are willingly working to unite people to create Ruth’s Legacy and deliver a real positive difference to people’s lives.

Can’t Keep Bumrah Quiet For Too Long

Both the opening batters of the day 2 campaign, Joe Root and Ben Stokes, were sent back to the pavilion by Bumrah. While the former completed his 37th Test century, the latter gave a good hand with the bat by smashing 44 runs before his dismissal. Jasprit Bumrah missed a potential hat-trick after he sent Joe Root and Chris Woakes to the pavilion and took back-to-back wickets for India.
