The India vs South Africa rivalry has reached a new high ever since the T20 World Cup 2024 final. Both the teams are playing against each other in a four-match T20I series and just ahead of the third T20I match, former South African batter Herschelle Gibbs has come up with a huge statement ahead of the IND vs SA 3rd T20I 2024. While speaking to SportsBoom.com in an exclusive interview, the former South African batter believes that South Africa are all set to win the four-match series by 3-1.
Herschelle Gibbs said, “Anything can happen. I think those sorts of wickets will suit the Indians more. Then come Johannesburg and the Wanderers at Super Sport Park, I’m expecting some high scoring games. Anything can happen in those games. After the first two games, the Proteas are with a full-strength team. India come with a team that’s not as experienced. I’m expecting at least a 3-1 series win with the Proteas.”
The India vs South Africa T20I series is currently placed at 1-1 and the third match of the series becomes very crucial if both teams look forward to winning the series. The South African team was outplayed in the first T20I match when the Indian team ended up winning the match by 61 runs. On the other hand, the Indian team nearly ended up winning the match in Gqeberha but in the end, Gerald Coetzee and Tristan Stubbs ensured that the Proteas cross the line.
