India's 25-year old young skipper Shubman Gill has scripted history and led India towards historic Test win in Birmingham. This is the first time India has won a Test match here in 57 years and this itself is big milestone for the newly appointed Indian skipper.
India is currently on the dominating side on the last day of the 2nd Test match that is being played at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Shubman Gill’s 269 runs in the first innings and 161 runs in the second innings led the team to a massive target of 608 runs that is to be achieved by the visitors in 108 overs. Shubman Gill’s heroics led him to breach multiple records, including bypassing legends like Virat Kohli, Sunil Gavaskar, and Sachin Tendulkar. Apart from Gill, Ravindra Jadeja’s contribution with the bat has been exceptional.
The bowling arsenal of the Indian side also complemented its batters. Mohammad Siraj and Akash Deep did great with the ball in the first innings, with the former claiming 6 wickets and the latter putting 4 wickets in the bag for himself. After declaring the innings, the speedsters did not rest and went again after the English Batters. Sending 3 top batters of the English side back to the pavilion, India need just 7 wickets on the last day of the 2nd Test to bounce back after being defeated by the hosts at Leeds by a margin of 5 wickets. The last day would be very exciting for the spectators to witness. Catch all the live action here and stay tuned for live updates.
