During the 61st over of the India vs England 3rd Test match at Lord’s, Jasprit Bumrah lost his wicket at a crucial stage. He came down to bat when the visitors were down for 8 wickets on just 112 runs. Alongside Ravindra Jadeja, he scored 5 runs. But what is to be considered here is his resilience to provide every ounce of blood and sweat to the team. Despite departing for just 5 runs, he managed to get a partnership of 37 runs, which is the second highest 9th wicket partnership at Lord’s for India and the highest in terms of number of deliveries (22 overs/132 balls). Surprisingly, the first spot on the podium is also reserved by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami during the 2021 Lord’s Test, where they together played a 89-run partnership in 120 balls.

‘For 60 Overs They Should Feel Like Hell’
Bumrah and Shami saved India in the 2021 Lord’s Test and accumulated 89 runs for the ninth wicket to help their team double their second innings lead from 182 to 271. In the fourth innings later, skipper Virat Kohli recalled his men in jest to send 60 overs of hell on England as India bowled them out for 120 in 51.5 overs to claim a come-from-behind victory by 151 runs. Bumrah scalped three wickets in the second innings, having remained wicketless in the first innings, while Mohammed Siraj scalped eight wickets over two innings.
Jadeja’s Resilience
Ravindra Jadeja once again displayed his prowess as a batter and scored the highest runs for the team, scoring a potential half-century. After Nitish Kumar Reddy departed for just 13 runs, the batting of the Indian side ended, and only 2 players remained to bat, who were the team’s full-time pacers, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj. Jadeja stuck to the crease and built a partnership of 37 runs with Jasprit Bumrah in 22 overs. Bumrah scored 5 runs in 54 balls and eventually departed after a desperate attempt for a pull short. Ben Stokes did the job for England.
