R Ashwin Retirement: India’s spin-maestro Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement in the recently concluded 3rd Test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy which ended in a draw. Ashwin curtained down his elite career as a 2nd highest wicket-taker by an Indian in Test history.

After announcing his retirement, Ashwin was asked about his position in the tally of highest wicket-takers in Test history.
“I won’t be in 7th place for long because Nathan Lyon will overtake me. I’ve contemplated retirement many times, I thought about the day I’d wake up and feel that my creative side was gone.
There is no future, I will leave cricket the same day”.
