Stadiums In Limbo: PCB’s Optimism Meets Unfinished Business for Champions Trophy 2025

The ground reality of the renovation works in Pakistan say something else as PCB doesn't look ready for the Champions Trophy 2025.

The Pakistan Cricket Board claimed to have done a lot of hard work in the renovation works for the three stadiums including Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi which are set to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The construction works of the three venues were supposed to be done by December 31, 2024, however, the ground reality is something else. None of the ground have completed the construction works and all the claims made regarding the completion of renovation works are flat.

Ground Reality Of Renovation Work In Pakistan Ahead Of Champions Trophy 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board released videos of the construction works happening at Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi on a daily basis. However, in every video only the incomplete structure is visible which tells how much unprepared are PCB for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. The marquee event will begin from February 19 whereas Pakistan has to hand over all the stadiums to ICC by February 12.

On the other hand, India are all set to play all their Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Dubai, UAE. Even, Pakistan will travel to UAE to play against India in the Champions Trophy 2025, however, as PCB had cried in front of the whole world when the hybrid model was accepted, the current progress showcases all those crocodile tears.
