Asus has collaborated with Microsoft to introduce a series of new handheld gaming consoles: ROG Xbox Ally and the Higher -Spec ROG Xbox Ally X as part of the new ROG lineup. The consoles were announced at the Xbox Game Showcase and would be launched during the 2025 holiday season. The pricing and the pre-order details of the new consoles would be revealed in the coming months. The Stand out feature of these devices would be their XBOX and Windows joint OS experience.
Asus Rog Ally Series
The new consoles would be able to boot directly into streamlined Xbox interface instead of the standard Windows desktop. The New Full screen mode would allow the users to remove unnecessary clutter, improve memory usage and enhance battery efficiency. Users would still have the option to switch back to Desktop mode if necessary. To further ensure that the new platform reduces the hassles that gamers generally go through, the new ROG interface would unify gaming libraries across platforms such as Steam, Epic games Store, Game Pass and Others into a controller friendly layout. Beyond that, new updates would further allow users to access settings and notifications from applications like Discord using the controller.
Both the models have Xbox-style grips and impulse triggers designed to enhance comfort and tactile feedback. Beyond that, the new sleep mode has been optimized to consume One-Third less power in sleep mode, further improving the battery life.
Rog X-box Ally Specifications
The ROG Xbox Ally would be powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2A with a memory of 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM. Users would be able to store all their favorites n a 512 GB M.2 SSD storage as well as a 60Wh battery. Connectivity ports would include 2X USB and 3.2 Gen 2 Type C connectors. Connectivity: would be helped WI-Fi 6E Bluetooth 5.4.
ROG Xbox Ally X Specifications
The ROG Ally X would be equipped with a AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme with a 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 1Tb M.2 SSD. The battery that would power the device would include an 80Wh battery 1X USB 4 Type C 1x USB 3.2 Gen Type C. Beyond all that, the device would also have a UHS-2 Micro SD Card reader with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and advanced connectivity with Wifi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. The operating system would be Windows 11 home.
